Think Outside the Boss: How to Start a Worker Co-op

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Worker-owned cooperatives—businesses owned and democratically controlled by their workers—provide stable jobs, empower workers through self-management, and promote community. Because they function within the capitalist economy, worker co-ops are part of a grassroots solution to economic crisis, and have the potential to overgrow capitalism from the bottom up. We will introduce worker co-ops and how they work, show some examples, and explore the nuts and bolts of how to get one started. Participants will leave with concrete tools for starting worker co-ops in their areas, including guides, consultants, and funding sources. Bring your business ideas!

If you are registered for Institute and logged into Sched, a link to the recording is visible on this page. The "Open Zoom" button now links to the recording.
